Bearpit
Karaoke is a karaoke show that takes place at the stone amphitheatre in
the MauerPark in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin every Sunday. Since it's
humble beginnings back in February 2009 when founder Joe Hatchiban (not
his real name) played to a friend of his and his (the friend's) two
children on the Schwedtersteg bridge in the snow, it has grown into a
local phenomenon regularly
drawing crowds of 1500-2000 people. A weekly must see event for locals
aswell as tourists.
The idea is very simple. There is a laptop computer full of karaoke
songs, a small mixer and two very loud custom made speakers from Klara Geist.
People sing. The audience goes crazy. We film the whole thing. Everyone
goes home happy. And then come back and do the same again next week.
The show continues to take place throught the Autumn weather
permitting generally between 1.30 and 5 every Sunday. This is generally
confirmed on our Facebook page.
Cheaper than a night at the blue man group. better than dirty dancing.
colder than all of them at the moment, and available for private
parties. joe hatchiban presents...
